Sarah Derikx

Sarah is currently pursuing a degree in Biochemistry at the University of Ottawa, with a minor in Computer Science for Scientists. She grew up attending the francophone school system in Hamilton, Ontario, and chose uOttawa partly so that she could continue her education in French. She loves learning about all areas of science, especially metabolism and genetics, and discovered her interest in computer science while hanging out with her Software Engineering friends in their classes.  She also loves languages, and enjoys reading and writing fiction.


Jonathan Leung

Jonathan is a grade 11 student who attends the Byng Arts program at Lord Byng Secondary School. He has participated in science fairs for 4 years and has studied trees, coyotes, and spiders. He has been to the Canada-Wide-Science-Fair 3 times and has really enjoyed the experience. In his spare time, he plays trumpet in the Lord Byng Senior Wind Ensemble, and piano. He also really likes to play online chess with his friends. He is thrilled to start layout designing for the CSFJ!


Darren Wang

Darren is a Grade 12 student at Prince of Wales Mini School, based in Vancouver. He is passionate about STEM research and innovation. He attended the Canada-Wide Science Fair in 2021 and currently, he is working on another research project that aims to detect stroke through using AI human pose estimation. Besides his interest in STEM, Darren is also a competitive badminton player who is committed to promoting the sport and staying involved in the local community. He is thrilled to be a part of CSFJ’s layout design team and contribute to the papers!
