The Canadian Science Fair Journal has now closed its submissions for Volume 1 publications. However, we will be opening submissions shortly following the 2019 Canada-Wide Science Fair, so keep your eye out for our submissions announcement on our social media!

Submission Guidelines:


Students in Grade 2-12, or ages 6-18, are eligible to submit their articles to the CSFJ. Articles may be submitted in either English or French. Class submissions are also accepted and encouraged.

The project must be original work that is previously unpublished in another peer-reviewed journal at the time of submission.

Article Type:

The CSFJ publishes original projects relevant to STEM fields. This includes and is not limited to biology, behaviour, engineering, chemistry, and technology. Published articles are restrictive to projects that have been presented at formal science fairs; however, article content must be consistent with the formatting and eligibility requirements described in the journal's submission guidelines.

Articles should including the following sections:

  1. Introduction

  2. Hypothesis

  3. Materials

  4. Observations

  5. Discussion

  6. Conclusion

  7. References

Each article will be thoroughly checked for plagiarism using online sites such as At the discretion of the editorial staff, plagiarism incidents will be classified as minor or major instances. Minor instances (likely accidental) will be returned to author for correction and resubmission. Major instances of plagiarism (misappropriation of an entire concept) will be denied publication. The editors reserve the right to make grammatical changes.

We take about two weeks to process submitted articles.
