Dayre.mcnally@csfjournal.com

Dr. McNally is a pediatric intensivist at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario and an associate professor at the University of Ottawa. He completed a Ph.D in biochemistry at Carleton University in 2002 and an M.D. at Dalhousie University in 2005. His primary area of research focuses on Vitamin D deficiency in pediatric critical illness. He is also the founder of InsightScope, an online platform for researchers to crowd source screening of systematic reviews. Inspired by his two sons and their science fair projects, Dr. McNally came up with the idea of a platform to prolong their science fair experience. He hopes this platform will inspire other young scientists to share their work and deepen their interest in science!

Martina has a BA in Linguistics from Carleton University and loves all things language and words. Though it was not her primary field of study, she has always had a special place in her heart for the sciences and the curiosity that is integral to them, particularly at the primary and secondary school levels. When not managing the CSFJ website, she works in administration for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in the Plant Health sector. Otherwise, you can find her hunched over her sewing machine, hiking in the woods, or pursuing her passion for theatre both on, off, and behind stage.

Brooke Cramer - Social Media Manager

Brooke is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, with a minor in Law, Justice and Society, and a certificate in Science Communication and Leadership from Dalhousie University. She plans to become a lawyer but has also investigated the possibility of going into speech-language pathology or occupational therapy. Currently, Brooke is working in a lab at the IWK Health Centre/Dalhousie University that seeks to improve the mental well-being of youth. In her free time, she loves to bake, cook, explore the outdoors, and spend time with her family. As someone pursuing a science degree with a deep understanding of the importance of effective science communication, Brooke thought the CSFJ would be the perfect opportunity to further explore her interests and promote youth involvement in scientific research.
